The daycare center was planned on a large site with beautiful trees without specifying an operator. The budget available was very limited.
A concept for a very compact building volume was developed. This leads to a minimization of the very expensive facades and to energy optimization. The areas in the center of the building are used as common areas and upstairs skylights guarantee good lighting conditions. The hallways are bright despite the relatively large depths of the building, because there is always a reference to the outer space.
The building is mostly generated in situ. Only the lounges on the first floor are made of timber construction covered with a coloured metal cladding. The impressive spaces with light-flooded rooms have a generosity which is used for high level platforms.
During the construction the operator was appointed and the spacial demands of its concept could be incorporated before completion.
