Create a unique hotel in the old town of the former french colony of Pondicherry, refined yet surprising - that was the challenge given to the architects of Villa Shanti, Tina Trigala and Yves Lesprit.
Respecting the heritage of its colonial architecture, this 19th century manor provides all the facilities of a boutique hotel, featuring six suites, a swimming pool and a restaurant.
Inspired by its Pondicherien past, the original walls of the old ground floor manor converse with the white immaculate walls, the teak wood, the glass and the metal of the new extension.
The use of noble and natural materials like precious wood, fabrics, silver cutlery, fine porcelaine along with a distinctive sense of color and detail draws you into the atmosphere of poetic intimacy and non-ostentatious luxury of this exclusive villa hotel.
Rooms are divided into four or five areas ( seating, bed, bathroom, dressing, outdoor patio or balcony )
All rooms furnitures have been designed by architect Tina Trigala and executed by local artisans using old local wood.
A subtile mix between local artefacts and contemporary sensibility bring to the place a unique atmosphere.
