Ironmonger Row Baths were built in 1931 as a public baths and laundry at a time when few in Finsbury had washing facilities in their homes. In 1937 a swimming pool and a small Turkish baths were added.
Tim Ronalds Architects were commissioned by Islington Council to refurbish and develop this much loved facility, dilapidated but listed, in a £16m project.
Ironmonger Row Baths now contain modern pools, fitness studios and an expanded Turkish baths and spa: state of the art facilities in a building which preserves the character of the handsome listed building.
