In October 2013 the office MAJOR ARCHITEKCI has won a competition for reconstruction of the crossing on the Świdnicka Street (which crosses Casimir the Great Street). This is a new new changed form of the project. It will be build in 2016, when Wrocław will be European Capital of Culture. The project involves changing function of underground crossing. By 2014 year there will be an Art Gallery. Wide descent to it will be narrowed. Pedestrian traffic will be routed on the top. The main and integral part of this design are two boxing tram and bus stops. Thanks to its form and whole volume allows to reconstruct the historical section of urban street and a reference to its pre-war volume of the place. It also optically narrows the breadth of Casimir the Great Street, which is a ring road in the centre of the city. The elevation of the boxes wiil be made of fiberglass rods. This material is ease of montage and of use. It is also elegant , solid and cheap. This will give the gentle and ethereal effect of the boxes, which will fill urban tissue and give new quality of urban space in the centre of Wroclaw. The designed square in front of the European Capital of Culture headquarter will integrate the people and give a cultural revival of this place. An additional atraction will be illumination effects on the sheds over the tram stops, for example during the cultural events.
