“I thought of the design for the House of God in the hope of making a house for man.” It is a simple and homogeneous structure, formed by a cylinder cut diagonally. The uppermost part of the building overlooks the square while the lowest part borders with a residential complex. The cathedral opens towards the sky by means of the glass connection between the circle of the base and the triangle of the roof. The choice of placing a series of trees at the top of the building evokes a green halo suspended above the city. The cylindrical volume negates the very idea of a façade: it is the inclined surface of the triangle inscribed within the circle that indicates the church orientation. Inside, it is evident the hierarchy between the central space designed for the believers and the perimetrical service area on the different levels. The intersection of the cylinder with the linear connection of one side of the roof gives the apse a particular shape.
